Hello, I am so glad that you would like to learn more about me! I am Dr. Johanna Andrews Adlam, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Premexcellence®. I have a Ph.D. in Public Health with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Health from the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I also completed my postdoctoral training in the Center for Health Disparities Research at UNLV. Additionally, I obtained a Master of Public Health degree as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hofstra University in New York. I also hold academic certifications in the areas of Research, Mentorship, and Communication from the Graduate College at UNLV.
About two years ago, I embarked on an exciting new journey to become a Certified Coach! I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Co-Active Training Institute. I am also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation. As a Career and Life Coach, I help people gain the clarity and confidence they need to design their own unique path to a meaningful and rewarding career or life. As a result of my journey, coupled with my skills and training as a Certified Coach, I have developed transformative coaching programs to support other accomplished professionals on their journeys to achieving their vision of excellence in their careers and lives.
I also posses a profound passion for working with students at every level of their college careers. I have mentored, advised, and coached students through their research projects and coursework for more than a decade. I also teach Public Health and Health Disparities courses at Hofstra University and UNLV, where I have developed enduring relationships with students. My desire to connect with students beyond their research or studies and understand their multiple roles outside of school has helped them succeed and explore abundant possibilities. The unique needs of students are vital to me, and I work diligently to provide tailored and comprehensive services to build their skills and academic performance. In addition to academic support, I also offer emotional and motivational support. My holistic and compassionate approach to academic consulting distinguishes my customizable services in Premexcellence® Academy.
Additionally, I have collaborated on various public health research projects and programs with researchers and personnel from numerous institutions and organizations. I have over thirteen years of experience conducting interdisciplinary research studies and leading diverse research teams at the academic and health system level. I enjoy providing extensive and comprehensive consulting services for varying public health research projects and programs. As a Social and Behavioral Health Researcher, my work focuses on racial and ethnic health disparities, food insecurity, healthy food access for communities of color, and stress and coping processes for persons of color in the United States.
All of my enriching and transformative experiences have inspired me to create Premexcellence® to support other professionals, students, and organizations through my unique coaching style and individualized consulting services. My sincere desire is for every client to achieve their vision of excellence on their personal, professional, and academic journeys!
